February 6, 2001 - Petra and I traveled from
Sundown Island to San Antonio Bay (42 miles) and counted only a
few Piping Plovers. We did see two families of Whooping Cranes
at Welders Flat and four Peregrine Falcons.
I was able to help King Fisher get an amended contract
and they are now pumping 180 cubic yards of sand onto Sundown Island.
January 30, 2001 - Mark, I am working on
the tractor shed blueprints. Can I fax them to you?
Robbie gave me 6, 6 inch by 12 foot poles that he had left from
his motel. I have them loaded on my boat trailer now.
King Fisher, who has the dredge contract, will start working
Saturday on cleaning the ICW North of Sundown. They said that they
would haul out anything we need.
My son-in-law, Tim is going to take charge of building a 20 by
50 foot pond in the middle of the island where you ran the pipe.
His company, Devon Energy, will furnish the drilling mud sealer
for the bottom of the pond. Hope to get another crew to bury
the pipe about six inches.
We will also have our tractor. I will be bringing the steel
(tin) down next week. I will send you the materials list so
that you can double check me. Maybe the weather will be okay.
